Brenda Bandy

DCandidate

On the ballot Nov 3, 2026: Kansas House District 67

Biography

Brenda Bandy is the Democratic candidate for Kansas House of Representatives District 67 in the November 3, 2026 general election, running against Republican Stacy Kohlmeier.[1][3] In a Ballotpedia survey, she described herself as a 43-year Manhattan resident and said she would work to lower the cost of health care, child care, housing, gas and groceries.[2]

Brenda Bandy graduated from Manhattan High School and earned a bachelor's degree from Kansas State University, and Ballotpedia lists her profession as executive director.[1] In her survey responses she said her father was in the Army and her husband is in the Army, and that the military brought her to Manhattan five times before the family chose to raise their four children there.[2] She said her volunteer work helping mothers and babies with breastfeeding took her to the Kansas Capitol to advocate for a law protecting a mother's right to breastfeed, which began what she called a 20-year commitment to family and business policy.[2] She advanced from the Democratic primary for District 67 on August 4, 2026.[1]

Bandy listed her campaign messages as lowering costs, supporting working Kansans and investing in public education, and named policies affecting families and caregivers as her area of passion.[2]
