Biography
Bob Cote is the Democratic candidate for the New Hampshire House of Representatives, Rockingham 16, in the November 3, 2026 general election.[1][2] An environmental engineer by career, he says he would represent Londonderry and has listed opposing a broad income or sales tax among his campaign messages.[2][3]
Bob Cote earned a high school diploma from Manchester Memorial High School and a bachelor's degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1970.[2] His career experience includes working as an environmental engineer.[2]
In his 2026 Ballotpedia survey answers, Cote said New Hampshire should oppose a broad income tax or sales tax and that a limited education-funding income tax should be considered only if voters approve it at the ballot box.[3] He also said the state should work toward a fairer, more predictable way to fund public education and should defend local control and avoid unfunded mandates on towns.[3] He listed housing, climate and environment, taxes, education, energy, and local businesses and local government among his areas of policy interest.[3]
