Biography
Blake Cummings is the Democratic candidate for Oklahoma House of Representatives District 28 in the November 3, 2026 general election, where he faces Republican incumbent Danny Williams.[1] A management consultant and native Oklahoman, he says he is running to improve education outcomes and protect Medicaid expansion.[1][2]
Cummings graduated from Kinta High School, earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1982 and completed a graduate degree at Southeastern Oklahoma State University in 2021.[1] Ballotpedia lists his profession as management consultant.[1] In a Ballotpedia survey, he said he was born in Muskogee and raised in Haskell County, is the son of a school teacher father and a Choctaw mother, and lives with his wife in Pottawatomie County.[2]
Cummings's Democratic primary was canceled, and he advanced to the general election without appearing on the primary ballot.[1] In the survey, he said improving education outcomes is the most pro-business goal a state government can have, called for keeping Medicaid expansion, and urged closer work with Oklahoma's tribal nations.[2]
