Biography
Beth Fuller is the Democratic candidate for Georgia House of Representatives District 53 in the November 3, 2026 general election, running against incumbent Deborah Silcox (R).[1][2] A public health professional and first-time candidate, she says her priorities include Medicaid expansion and affordable healthcare.[3]
Beth Fuller earned a bachelor's degree from Emory University and a Ph.D. from Columbia University, and also studied at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.[1] In a Ballotpedia survey, she described herself as a lifelong Georgian, public health professional and mother, and said she grew up with a father who was a judge.[3] She said her contract with the CDC was terminated in 2024 as a result of federal funding cuts, which led her to run for office.[3]
Fuller said she would support Medicaid expansion and more affordable healthcare, take on insurance companies over premiums, and advocate for fully funded public schools and gun policy changes.[3] She advanced from the Democratic primary on May 19, 2026.[1]
