Biography
Ben Davis is the Socialist Party candidate for Indiana House of Representatives District 13 in the November 3, 2026 general election, running against incumbent Republican Matt Commons and Democrat Brenna Geswein. A strategic consultant in information technology, he is a Lafayette native.[1][2]
Davis graduated from Lafayette Jefferson High School, earned an associate degree from Ivy Tech State College in 2000, and received a bachelor's degree in 2012 and a graduate degree in 2018 from Western Governors University.[1] In a Ballotpedia survey, he said his career is in IT and that he is a strategic consultant for a medium-sized managed services company.[2] He said he is a married father of three, a longtime platelet donor, a former Cubmaster, and a board member of GenderNexus.[2]
Davis said he helped found the Socialist Party of Indiana and is the first candidate to gain ballot access under it, after a coalition he helped build knocked on more than 2,500 doors between January and June 2026 to collect signatures.[2] He said he is a member of PFLAG, Jewish Voice for Peace and the Democratic Socialists of America.[2] He described his central message as being an advocate for working Hoosiers who is not subject to wealthy donors, and said he would hold town halls year-round.[2]
