Biography
Anthony Phillips is the Republican candidate for Wisconsin State Assembly District 56 in the November 3, 2026 general election, running against Democrat Grace Abitz in a race with no incumbent.[1][2] He ran for Wisconsin State Senate District 18 in 2024, losing to Democrat Kristin Alfheim.[1]
Phillips's campaign website says he lives in Appleton, where he and his wife, Heidi, raised five children.[3] It describes Fox Valley Hematology and Oncology as an independent business with eventually 130 employees, and says he was part owner of nine Sola Salon franchises from 2013 to 2022.[3] It says he led efforts in 2007, in coordination with the American Cancer Society, that resulted in Appleton becoming the second Wisconsin municipality to ban smoking in restaurants.[3]
The website says Phillips was the lone conservative on Governor Evers's People's Maps Commission in 2020–2021 and is a board member of Fox Valley Conservatives.[3]
