Biography
Anthony Aragues Jr. is the Democratic candidate for the Georgia House of Representatives, District 21, in the November 3, 2026 general election, facing incumbent Republican Brad Thomas.[1] A Marine Corps veteran and technology professional, he says he is running on affordability, healthcare costs and public school funding.[1][2]
Aragues served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1997 to 2001, and Ballotpedia lists his career experience as working as a technology executive.[1] In a Ballotpedia survey, he described himself as a Marine Corps veteran, technology professional and martial arts instructor who has lived in Cherokee County for 26 years.[2] He said he has been married for 30 years and has two grown children and a grandchild.[2]
Aragues said his key messages are an affordability squeeze on working people, local development outpacing road and other infrastructure, and the need for what he called sensible regulation of artificial intelligence.[2] He named reducing the affordability squeeze for working-class people, reducing healthcare costs, funding public schools and protecting freedoms and rights as policy areas he is passionate about.[2]
