Biography
Andy Tedford is the Republican candidate for the Connecticut House of Representatives, District 56, in the November 3, 2026 general election, where he is running against incumbent Kevin Brown (D / Working Families Party / Independent Party of Connecticut).[1][2] His campaign website describes him as a lifelong Vernon resident, former Town Council member and healthcare professional.[3]
Tedford says on his campaign website that he attended Vernon public schools, graduated from Rockville High School, and is a third-generation Vernon resident raising a family there with his wife, Yuqi.[3] He writes that he served on Vernon's Water Pollution Control Facility Committee from 2014 to 2019 and chaired it from 2019 to 2023, and that he also served on the Vernon Town Council.[3] The site says he has spent 12 years in a large Connecticut healthcare system, working across operations, analytics and technology, and earlier managed teams and budgets at Rockville General Hospital and Woodlake at Tolland.[3]
His campaign lists lowering costs, including electricity costs and taxes, supporting schools and safe neighborhoods, and a responsive voice in Hartford as its priorities.[3]
