Biography
Andy Bowline is the Democratic candidate for North Carolina State Senate District 31 in the November 3, 2026 general election, running against incumbent Dana Caudill Jones (R).[1][3] A Winston-Salem stay-at-home father and former health tech company co-founder, he says he is running to give voters a choice in a heavily Republican district.[2]
Andy Bowline earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Texas at Austin and a graduate degree from Wake Forest University.[1] In a Ballotpedia survey, he described himself as a stay-at-home dad and former health tech CEO who co-founded a health tech company, worked as a software developer and nonprofit consultant, and earned an MBA at Wake Forest.[2] He said he lives in Winston-Salem with his family and has two children in North Carolina public schools.[2]
Bowline advanced to the general election after the Democratic primary was canceled.[1] In the survey, he named public schools, health care access, corporate accountability and fair maps as the issues he cares about.[2] He said he would seek accountability and audits for corporate tax breaks, oppose voucher funding he said mostly goes to families already in private school, and protect Medicaid expansion.[2]
