Biography
Andres Jinete is the Green Party nominee for New Jersey's open 12th Congressional District. A community organizer from Bound Brook and a member of the Central Jersey Tenant Union, he has worked in libraries in the district and on rapid-response networks opposing ICE detentions. He has not held elected office and is running on rent control, universal health care and abolishing ICE.[1][2][3]
Andres Jinete was born and raised in Bound Brook, New Jersey, where he lives; WHYY reports he was 29 at the time of its September 2026 voter guide and is a management student at Kean University.[2] He has worked at libraries in the 12th District for about 10 years, according to WHYY, and his campaign website says he worked at the community library setting up programs for adults, seniors and families.[2][3][1]
Jinete is a member of the Central Jersey Tenant Union, representing one of the largest apartment complexes in Bound Brook, and says his advocacy for tenants and seniors led to code violations being addressed.[2][1] He helped build rapid-response networks across New Jersey to support working people and small businesses and to prevent ICE detentions. He is also a member of Workers Strike Back and a steering committee member of the Latinx caucus of the Green Party.[1][2][3]
