Biography
Alan Bradstock is the Democratic nominee for Pennsylvania's 14th District. A Donora native, he describes a career as a U.S. Army aviation officer who deployed during Operation Desert Storm, a 20-year FBI special agent, and later a KPMG auditor, financial adviser and intelligence-community contractor. This is his first run for elected office; his campaign emphasizes economic security, health care, veterans and limiting money in politics.[1][2][3]
Bradstock is a native of Donora, Pennsylvania, and a graduate of Ringgold High School in Washington County, according to his campaign website.[2] He earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from Washington & Jefferson College, graduating cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, and played four years of basketball there; he was recently inducted into the college's Athletics Hall of Fame.[2][4]
After college, Bradstock was commissioned as a U.S. Army aviation officer and served eight years.[1][2] His campaign says he was stationed in Germany during the fall of the Berlin Wall, deployed to the Middle East during Operation Desert Storm and earned a master's degree in international relations through Troy State University's overseas program.[1][2] He then spent two decades as an FBI special agent: after New Agent Training at Quantico he worked drug, public-corruption, kidnapping and violent-crime cases in Las Cruces, New Mexico, became a Counterterrorism Division supervisor with assignments at CIA Headquarters and the DEA's Special Operations Division, and later served in Louisville, Kentucky.[2] He also served as Deputy Legal Attaché at the U.S. Embassy in Ottawa, working with Canadian law enforcement and intelligence agencies.[2]
In the private sector, Bradstock worked as an auditor for KPMG, as an independent financial adviser, and as a contractor supporting the U.S. Intelligence Community in budget, strategy and program management.[2][4] He announced his candidacy in November 2025, and WESA reported it is his first run for elected office.[1][4][3] He was unopposed in the May 19, 2026 Democratic primary (48,774 votes).[1] According to his campaign website, he lives in Fayette County with his wife and has two children.[2]
