Biography
Adam Bojak is the Democratic and Working Families Party candidate for the New York State Assembly, District 149, in the November 3, 2026 general election, in which he faces Frank Bogulski (Conservative Party and Republican) for a seat with no incumbent.[1][2] An attorney, Bojak said in a Ballotpedia survey that he is running as a democratic socialist on housing, labor rights and affordability.[2][3]
Adam Bojak received a bachelor's degree from the Rochester Institute of Technology in 2005 and a J.D. from the University at Buffalo School of Law in 2012, according to Ballotpedia, which lists his professional experience as attorney.[2] In his survey, he described himself as a housing rights lawyer.[3]
Bojak ran in the 2020 Democratic primary for New York State Assembly District 149 and finished second with 30.4 percent of the vote, behind Jonathan Rivera.[2] On June 23, 2026, he won the Democratic primary for the seat with 49.5 percent of the vote, ahead of Karen Hoak and Kevin Deese.[2]
In the survey, Bojak said he is running as a proud democratic socialist and listed his key messages as housing, labor and the cost of living.[3] He said he supports social housing statewide, tenant protections and legislation to keep older residents and those on fixed incomes from losing homes to tax foreclosure.[3] He also said he would support union and labor rights and cooperatively owned businesses, and would seek higher wages and higher corporate taxes to fund Medicaid and universal child care.[3]
