In the March 3, 2026 Democratic primary, Frederick Haynes defeated Barbara Mallory Caraway and Rodney LaBruce, 72.6% to 23.1% to 4.3%. In the Republican primary, Everett Jackson and Sholdon Daniels advanced to a May 26, 2026 runoff, which Jackson won 57.5% to 42.5%.[3]
