• Earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Utah (1986), a graduate degree from Central Michigan University (1993), and a law degree from Willamette University College of Law (1998).[4]
• After retiring from the military in 2019, worked at the Kevin Mannix Law Firm representing crime victims and business owners, and joined an Oregon policy advocacy group (CSFO) in 2022, working on homelessness, addiction and crime policy; raised twin sons as a single mother in Eugene.[4]
