Issue evidence — side by side
Recorded votes, documented positions and candidates’ own words are shown with sources. “In their own words” quotes a candidate on the topic without inferring a stance. Votes describe specific bills or motions; they do not establish overall support or opposition to a broad issue. A dash means our research has no evidence on that topic, not that the candidate has no position.

Research notes & limits
The 15-candidate slate matches the Tennessee Secretary of State's certified Governor candidate list (Nov. 3, 2026 general election) and the Davidson County Election Commission sample ballot exactly, including party lines and home cities. Blackburn's positions are from her campaign issue pages and Green's and Hatley's from their campaign sites; only positions stated directly there are listed. Minimal-tier summaries for independents rely on The Tennessee Firefly (which draws on Politics1, campaign sites and Ballotpedia) because Ballotpedia could not be read; occupation descriptions that the Firefly could not corroborate are stated as 'listed as'. Primary-result percentages come from Wikipedia's results tables. Misam Abidi's federal indictment is reported as a charge only: the IRS Criminal Investigation release, WREG and WSMV were read directly, and neither news report was found to state a plea or verdict.
