Issue evidence — side by side
Recorded votes, documented positions and candidates’ own words are shown with sources. “In their own words” quotes a candidate on the topic without inferring a stance. Votes describe specific bills or motions; they do not establish overall support or opposition to a broad issue. A dash means our research has no evidence on that topic, not that the candidate has no position.

Research notes & limits
Slate: the Ohio Secretary of State's certified candidate list could not be loaded (403 bot check); the three-candidate slate rests on Ballotpedia and two news reports (Columbus Dispatch, Oct 12, 2026; USA TODAY Network, Sept-Oct 2026). Sprague's campaign website could not be located; his views come from news coverage, so only one short verbatim phrase is shown as a statement. Russo's voting record was not reviewed bill-by-bill (the legislature's website was unreachable); record items are from the Columbus Dispatch. No documentary-proof-of-citizenship stance is stated directly by any candidate in a source reviewed, so no positions were scored.
