Governor of Nevada

Statewide — all of Nevada

General election · Tuesday, November 3, 2026

Sources re-checked October 19, 2026 · How we research

  • Incumbent Republican Gov. Joe Lombardo is seeking a second term; Nevada limits governors to two terms. He won the June 9 Republican primary with 91.0%.[1][2][10]
  • Attorney General Aaron Ford won the June 9 Democratic primary with 63.8% over Washoe County Commission Chair Alexis Hill.[1]
  • Only three candidates appear on the November ballot for governor: Lombardo (Republican), Aaron Ford (Democratic) and Danielle Ford, who has no party and qualified by petition. 'None of These Candidates' also appears as a ballot choice in Nevada statewide races.[1][9][10][11]

Issue evidence — side by side

Recorded votes, documented positions and candidates’ own words are shown with sources. “In their own words” quotes a candidate on the topic without inferring a stance. Votes describe specific bills or motions; they do not establish overall support or opposition to a broad issue. A dash means our research has no evidence on that topic, not that the candidate has no position.

Protect legal access to abortion

  • Joe Lombardo
    Mixed[3]

His campaign did not say whether the right to an abortion through 24 weeks should be added to the state constitution; he has said he would personally support a 15-week cutoff, but that abortion rights are codified in state law and should be left to voters.

  • Aaron Ford
    Supports[3]

Says that as governor he will keep Nevada a firewall on abortion access, IVF and private medical decisions; The Nevada Independent lists him as answering yes on enshrining the right to an abortion through 24 weeks in the state constitution.

  • Danielle Ford

  • Aaron Ford

Research notes & limits

Nevada elects its lieutenant governor separately, so no running mates are noted. The Nevada Secretary of State's own candidate list is behind a bot-protection wall (not bypassed). The slate was confirmed against Clark County's official Notice of General Election for Nov. 3, 2026, which lists Aaron D. Ford (DEM), Danielle Ford (NPP, no political party), Joseph Lombardo (REP) and 'None of these candidates' for governor; it also matches Vote Clock's reproduction of the Secretary of State's certified list (dated Aug. 25, 2026), Wikipedia and The Nevada Independent's voter guide, which list only Lombardo (R), Aaron Ford (D) and Danielle Ford (no party) for governor. BallotReady's listing also shows the same three; no Libertarian or Independent American candidate is listed for governor. Lombardo's veto and bill-signing figures are from his office's June 2025 statement.
