Attorney General of Florida
Statewide — all of Florida
General election · Tuesday, November 3, 2026
- The August 18, 2026 primaries were canceled because each party had a single remaining candidate: incumbent Republican James Uthmeier and Democrat Jose Javier Rodriguez advanced unopposed.[1]
- Uthmeier was appointed Attorney General by Gov. Ron DeSantis after Ashley Moody was appointed to the U.S. Senate, and took office on February 17, 2025; this is his first election to the office.[2]
- Florida Phoenix's 2026 general-election voter guide and The Green Papers' candidate list show only Uthmeier and Rodriguez for the office.[9][10]

Issue evidence — side by side
Recorded votes, documented positions and candidates’ own words are shown with sources. “In their own words” quotes a candidate on the topic without inferring a stance. Votes describe specific bills or motions; they do not establish overall support or opposition to a broad issue. A dash means our research has no evidence on that topic, not that the candidate has no position.

Research notes & limits
Slate: the Florida Division of Elections candidate download returned no data and its candidate page was not current, so the slate rests on the Florida Phoenix voter guide and The Green Papers, which list only Uthmeier (R) and Rodriguez (D); a write-in or no-party candidate cannot be ruled out. Ballotpedia pages (blocked by an automated challenge) could not be re-read, so biographical details sourced only to Ballotpedia were not re-verified. Florida's Secretary of State is appointed, so there is no SoS race.
