Alexander Kolodin is the Republican nominee, a state representative and attorney. He sponsored a voter-ID bill that will be decided by voters on the November ballot, and his campaign says he would bring transparency and accountability to the Secretary of State's office.[1][2]

Kolodin was born in Chandler.[3] He earned a bachelor's degree from Georgetown University and a law degree from the University of Pennsylvania, founded the Kolodin Law Group, and practiced law privately before seeking elected office.[1][4]
He has represented District 3 in the Arizona House of Representatives since taking office on January 9, 2023.[4] He won the July 21, 2026 Republican primary for Secretary of State over former Arizona GOP chair Gina Swoboda.[2][3][4]
